Anadarko is a small city in Oklahoma, United States, located about 64 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. It serves as the county seat of Caddo County and is situated at the intersection of U.S. Route 281 and U.S. Route 62. Known as the Indian Capital of the Nation, the city was founded in the late 1800s along the banks of the Washita River and was named after the Nadaco tribe.

The Anadarko Downtown Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and features several historic buildings, including the Redskin Theater. The Anadarko Heritage Museum is also nearby, located at 311 E. Main Street. Other notable attractions include the Southern Plains Indian Museum, Wichita Tribal Dance Grounds, and the National Hall of Fame for Famous American Indians.

About half of the city’s population is Native American, and the local economy mainly relies on agriculture. Anadarko is also home to the headquarters of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes.
