Known as Charm City, Baltimore is the largest city in Maryland state located in the eastern part of the United States of America. Baltimore can be found right between the capital city of the country and the city of Philadelphia, and it is a key transport and logistics spot in the eastern part of the country. There is a modern network of transportation connections uniting the cities of Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City. The area is quite heavily populated and is among the best places to live in the region. Baltimore is located on the shores of Chesapeake Bay and is one of the key ports of the Atlantic shores of the US. Historically, the city used to be the main point of receiving immigrants coming from various countries, so traditionally the community is very multicultural and the general culture of the city is multi-traditional and varied. 

Baltimore is famous for plenty of small satellite cities, with their modern architecture, a multitude of cultures, and a distinctive local lifestyle. It is home to such old and famous institutions as Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital, which are world-class healthcare and medical research establishments. There are plenty of landmarks and old buildings in the downtown area of Baltimore, including old cathedrals, halls, administrative buildings, and cultural establishments. The Washington Monument and the Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower are among the most visited tourist attractions in the city. The landmarks like Mount Vernon, Federal Hill, and Fell's Point are among the ones of the National Register of the country's most important historic monuments.
