Bendigo is a small city which can be found in the central part of Victoria state in South Australia. The city is situated about 95 miles north of Melbourne, the capital city of the state. Bendigo is one of the largest cities of Victoria, with the area close to 111 square miles, and it lies approximately in the middle of the state. The setting is truly wonderful, with a number of beautiful natural parks like the Greater Bendigo National Park or Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park, situated in close proximity to the downtown area. The city of Bendigo is situated about 390 miles south west of the capital city of Australia, the city of Canberra, about the same distance south east of Adelaide, and about 440 miles south west of the city of Sydney.

The settlement was established in the middle of the 19th century during the times of the gold rush, making it one of the most growing communities of the Victorian times.
