Downtown Atlanta is the city’s central business district and the largest one among Atlanta’s main districts. Located next to Centennial Olympic Park, the College Football Hall of Fame showcases exhibits dedicated to legendary college football players and the history of the sport. Downtown Atlanta is also home to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, located at Pemberton Place at 100 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd NW. The museum displays important artifacts and documents related to the civil rights movement in the United States.
State Farm Arena is another major landmark in Downtown Atlanta, located at 1 State Farm Drive. Formerly known as Philips Arena from 1999 to 2018, the venue opened on September 18, 1999, and serves as the home arena of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. It is easily accessible via the GWCC/CNN Center Subway Station. Nearby, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is located at 1 AMB Drive Northwest. Opened in 2017, the stadium has a seating capacity of 71,000 and hosts American football and soccer events. It is the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and will host Super Bowl LXII in 2028. The stadium is also one of the official venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
