Saskatoon is a city located on the South Saskatchewan River in the central region of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the largest city in the province and an important educational center, home to several universities. The city covers an area of about 48 square miles and sits at an elevation of approximately 1,580 feet.

Saskatoon lies 400 miles north of the U.S. border in Montana. It is about 145 miles from Regina, the provincial capital, 440 miles northwest of Winnipeg, and just over 300 miles southeast of Edmonton. The downtown area is bisected by the South Saskatchewan River and is famous for its many bridges, earning Saskatoon the nickname “Bridge City”.

The city’s largest neighborhoods include historic districts such as Riversdale and Nutana, along with suburban areas like Stonebridge, Wildwood, Eagle Ridge, and Grasswood. Saskatoon is a cultural and tourism hub, known for its theaters, art galleries, design studios, and numerous annual cultural events, fairs, and exhibitions that attract visitors from across Canada. To the north and northwest of the city, there are extensive wetlands and thousands of small lakes, offering natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The city is served by Saskatoon International Airport.
