The Financial District in San Francisco, California, United States, is located in the northeastern part of the city, near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. It is the largest central business district in San Francisco. The area is bordered by Union Square to the west, North Beach to the north, Chinatown to the northwest, and SoMa to the south. The Financial District’s boundaries are defined by Kearny Street to the west, Washington Street to the north, and Market Street to the south.

The Financial District in San Francisco is famous for being home to numerous corporate headquarters, consulates, banks, high-rise buildings, and historical landmarks. The Transamerica Pyramid, once San Francisco’s tallest building, is a 48-story skyscraper located at 600 Montgomery Street. The San Francisco Ferry Building, located on The Embarcadero, is a major transportation terminal and a historic landmark in the district. Opened on July 13, 1898, it features an iconic clock tower with a height of 245 feet (75 m) and offers vendors, restaurants, and stunning views of San Francisco Bay, Treasure Island, and the Bay Bridge.

Embarcadero Center is one of the popular shopping centers in the area, offering many stores, restaurants, and a movie theater showing indie movies. Other tourist attractions include Embarcadero Plaza, Rincon Park, and Pier 14. The district is served by the Embarcadero & Ferry Building Transit Station, Embarcadero Station, and Montgomery Street Station.
