Greenland is an American action-adventure disaster film directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling. Starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Roger Dale Floyd, David Denman, and Hope Davis, the film follows the Garrity family as they struggle to survive when a planet-destroying comet approaches Earth, forcing a father to take increasingly dangerous risks to protect his loved ones as society descends into chaos.
The film was released by STXfilms on December 18, 2020, and grossed $52.3 million worldwide against a production budget of $35 million. Its sequel, Greenland 2: Migration, was released on January 9, 2026.
Greenland was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The opening scene was shot at 240 Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. Additional filming took place across the state of Georgia, including locations in Houston County, Conyers, and Jonesboro. Greenland scenes were filmed in Iceland. Filming also took place at Robins AFB, Georgia.

I just watched this yesterday, and I could tell it was familiar. In storyline, they were supposed to be in New York, but I recognized something about that scene. Thanks for pinpointing it!
