Claremore is a city in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States, located about 27 miles northeast of Tulsa. Incorporated in 1883, the city serves as the county seat of Rogers County and is part of the Tulsa metropolitan statistical area. The area was originally inhabited by the Osage Nation.
Claremore is situated in northeastern Oklahoma. Interstate 44 runs along the northeastern edge of the city, providing easy access to the region. The city is also served by Claremore Regional Airport and is connected by State Highways 20, 66, and 88. Claremore is home to Rogers State University (RSU), a public university that was founded in 1909 as the Eastern University Preparatory School.
The city features several sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Downtown Claremore Historic District, the Will Rogers Hotel, and the Belvidere mansion. One of the major attractions is the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum, located at 330 N J.M. Davis Boulevard.
