Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India

Vijayawada (విజయవాడ), also known as Bezwada, is a large city located in east-central Andhra Pradesh, India. It is considered the third-largest city in the state, situated about 80 miles southwest of Rajahmundry and around 12 miles from Amaravati. The city is known for its developed infrastructure and numerous modern shopping malls. It is also home to many higher educational institutions and is regarded as an educational, political, and commercial center of the state. The main language spoken by residents is Telugu.

Vijayawada is home to the Indira Gandhi Stadium as well as Andhra Loyola College, founded in 1953, which is a Jesuit educational institution. There are many attractions and landmarks in and around the city, including Gandhi Hill, Kanaka Durga Temple, Hazarat Bal Mosque, Bapu Museum, Prakasam Barrage, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, Undavalli Caves, Mangalagiri, Bhavani Island, Paritala Anjaneya Swami Temple, and Amaravati Museum. Vijayawada Airport is an international airport located at Gannavaram, about 10 miles from the city center.
