Gegen die Wand (Head-On) is a German-Turkish romantic drama film written and directed by Fatih Akın. Starring Birol Ünel, Sibel Kekilli, Güven Kiraç, Catrin Striebeck, and Meltem Cumbul, the film was released on 11 March 2004 (Germany) and 19 March 2004 (Turkey), won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Golden Berlin Bear at the 2004 Berlin International Film Festival. It follows the relationship between a suicidal young woman and a forty-year-old man who has given up on life after the death of his wife.
