Drive is an American action crime drama movie directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, written by Hossein Amini, based on James Sallis' novel of the same title published in 2005. The film premiered at 2011 Cannes Film Festival, was released on September 16, 2011 (United States), nominated for an Oscar: "Best Achievement in Sound Editing". Starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Oscar Isaac, and Christina Hendricks, the film follows the story of a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver and his neighbor, Irene.
Drive was mostly filmed in Los Angeles, California. The Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles was used as the interior of Driver and Irene's apartments. Picture Car Warehouse was used as Shannon's garage.
