The Holiday Locations

The Holiday is a romantic comedy written, produced, and directed by Nancy Meyers, and distributed by Columbia Pictures. Starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Jack Black, Eli Wallach, Edward Burns, John Krasinski, and Rufus Sewell, the film tells the heartwarming story of Iris and Amanda, two women who swap homes in different countries to escape their romantic troubles during the Christmas and holiday season. Premiering in New York City on November 29, 2006, The Holiday became a global success, grossing $205.1 million worldwide. The film’s score was composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer. 

The Holiday was shot in Los Angeles, California. Interiors of Amanda's and Iris' homes were filmed at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City. The exterior scenes of Amanda's house took place at 1883 Orlando Road, San Marino. However, some of the most memorable scenes were filmed in England. Village scenes were shot in Shere, England, a picturesque village in Surrey. Filming also occurred in Godalming.
