Memento Locations

Memento is an American neo-noir psychological thriller mystery drama film written and directed by Christopher Nolan, produced by Suzanne and Jennifer Todd. The film is about a man who has anterograde amnesia (the inability to form new memories) attempts to track down his wife's murderer. Memento premiered at the 57th Venice International Film Festival, was released on March 16, 2001 (United States), and nominated for 2 Academy Awards: "Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen" and "Best Film Editing". The was selected by the US Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2017. Starring Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano, and Stephen Tobolowsky, the film was shot in a suburban home close to Pasadena, Burbank, Los Angeles, and an oil refinery near Long Beach. The Travel Inn in Tujunga was used as the interior of Leonard's and Dodd's motel rooms and the exterior of the Discount Inn.
